The North Carolina Pottery Center's 2026 Gala & Auction: Going, Going, Gone to Pots will be held Sunday November 8th, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at the Umstead Hotel & Spa in Cary, NC!
This event is a chance to show your support for our mission of Sharing NC's Clay Stories, Past and Present, as we celebrate North Carolina Pottery
We'll have a delightful, light reception with tasty treats (accompanied by wine and beer) from the Umstead Hotel & Spa.
There will be a Silent Auction, decadent desserts, and a Live Auction featuring some amazing wares & exceptional experiences!
The past three years, we have had a pottery throwdown at the gala. This year, we're doing something different!
HISTORY w/ Hunter Randolph! Hunter may be a younger collector, but he loves historical and contemporary NC pottery, and his age belies an impressive knowledge of NC pottery history. Chat with Hunter and learn more about NC’s clay stories. There will be a lovely piece of historic art pottery in the SILENT AUCTION.
HANDS ON - Become a part of NC’s Clay Story! You’ll have the opportunity to get one of your hands in some glaze and leave your handprint on a couple of bisqueware pieces. Those pieces will be fired post-gala, but SOLD during the LIVE AUCTION. Leave your mark on NC’s Clay Story and show your support for the Center.
SCULPTURAL DEMO by Ryan Obsorne! Watch and talk to Ryan as he sculpts a piece. His work explores material, memory, and form. Working intuitively, he creates sculptures that balance tension, playfulness, and abstraction while drawing on animal and human references. He has a piece in the LIVE AUCTION.
