Open House
April 18, 2026
Coinciding with the Seagrove Potters 18th Annual Celebration of Spring Pottery Tour-Spring Kiln Openings Driving Tour on Saturday, April 18, 2026 (you can visit www.discoverseagrove.com for more info), the North Carolina Pottery Center will be celebrating NC's Clay Stories, Past and Present and holding an Open House (w/ free admission) from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
We are celebrating the 1st anniversary of our renovated and award-winning NC's Clay Stories, Past and Present exhibition, featuring its great pottery and large-screen digital interactives covering everything from Native American and Colonoware pottery.
Delores J Farmer (@delorespottery), an amazing potter from Durham, NC, will talk about Raku pottery and conduct Raku firing demonstrations throughout the day. (A more detailed schedule will be released closer to the event date.)
There will also be free food from noon until 1:30.
In addition to the new/renovated exhibit, raku demos, and free food, you'll be able to see two wonderful temporary contemporary shows, Clay Colorama (featuring 11 artists from across NC) and Fruitapalooza (featuring ECU students and alumni).
We hope you'll join us here in Seagrove for this amazing day of activities at the center and also visit some of the local potters during their Celebration of Seagrove Potters Spring Kiln Opening & Driving Tour!
